Instructions for use:
Dimensioning of the joint:
Joints for which Sanitet- & Byggesilicone 577 is used should be dimensioned so that the movement of the free joint substance is below +/- 25%. In order to accommodate maximum joint movement, the width of the joint should be min. 6 mm and max. 30 mm. The joint depth is usually half the joint width, however min. 5 mm and max. 10 mm. Joint base is used in the right dimension, and placed according to the desired joint depth. Preparation of materials: The joint sides must be clean, dry, free of release agent, grease, dust and loose particles. Sanitet&Byggesilicone 577 can be used without primer on surfaces such as glass, enamel, most metals, most painted surfaces and most types of plastic, wood, concrete, brick etc.

Since in practice there can be variations in the individual materials, sufficient adhesion tests should always be carried out before starting - especially large - tasks. It is recommended to use masking tape, which is removed again immediately after applying the sealant.

Conditions of use: Can be applied at temperatures from +5 °C to +40 °C and a relative humidity of at least 30%.
Application: The threaded top of the cartridge is cut off with a sharp knife, after which the joint tip itself is cut to size with an oblique cut that is slightly smaller than the width of the joint. The sealant is applied using a hand or compressed air gun. The joint is pressed into place and smoothed carefully with a joint stick saturated with soapy water no later than 5 - 10 minutes after application.
Hardening: Film formation: approx. 5 - 15 minutes at 23 °C and 50% RH.
Non-stick: approx. 1 - 4 hours at 23 °C and 50% RH.
Fully cured: 1 - 2 mm/day, depending on humidity and temperature. The sealant hardens more slowly at lower temperatures and lower humidity.
Finishing: Sanitary & Building Silicone 577 cannot be painted over.
Cleaning: Tools are cleaned - and sealant is removed - with e.g. acetone. Hardened sealant can only be removed mechanically or with Silicone Remover 911. Wash hands and skin with soap and water.
