Instructions for use:

Dimensioning the joint: The joint compound can be used in joints from 0 to 25 mm wide. Joint base is used in the correct dimension, which is placed according to the desired joint depth. Note! In the case of many building tasks, acclimatization of the building materials used will take place during the first months. This will especially be the case in the period after commissioning when the premises are heated. As a result, a greater shrinkage can occur between the building parts than a joint compound can absorb. This is especially the case if the joints are narrow. A crack may therefore form, which must subsequently be grouted again (when the construction has reached its equilibrium in relation to the conditions of use).

Preparation of materials: The joint sides must be clean, dry, free of release agent, grease, dust and loose particles. Danaseal Acryl 504 can be used without primer on most surfaces such as glass, aluminium, wood, concrete, brick etc. Very porous surfaces are primed with a solution of 50% acrylic sealant and 50% water.

Since in practice there can be variations in the individual materials, sufficient adhesion tests should always be carried out before starting - especially large - tasks. It is recommended to use masking tape, which is removed again immediately after applying the sealant.

Application temperature : Can be applied at temperatures from +5 °C to +40 °C.

Application : The threaded top of the cartridge is cut off with a sharp knife, after which the joint tip itself is cut to size. With a slanted cut that is slightly smaller than the width of the joint. The sealant is applied using a hand or compressed air gun.

The joint is pressed into place and smoothed carefully with a water-saturated joint stick, wet sponge or wet cloth, no later than 5 - 10 minutes after application.

Curing : Film formation: approx. 10 minutes at 23 °C and 50% RH. Non-stick: approx. 15 minutes at 23 °C and 50% RH. Fully cured: 1 - 2 days for small joints - Larger joints require a longer curing time. The sealant hardens more slowly at lower temperatures and higher humidity.

Finishing : After hardening, Danaseal Acryl 504 can be painted over with most types of paint. However, due to the many different products on the market, we recommend that you carry out a test, especially for matte types of paint, cracking may occur.

Discoloration of joints : For further information on discolouration of joints, see "Technical information and yellowing" in our brochure index.

Cleaning : Tools are cleaned - and sealant is removed - with e.g. hot water. Hardened sealant can only be removed mechanically. Wash hands and skin with soap and water.
