Underneath any floor covering there is a floor structure, which consists of a floor substrate and the supporting structure. This section contains descriptions of construction types, adhesives, floor substrates, accessories and special constructions.

• Accessories and special materials: When making floors, there is a need to use a number of different accessories, e.g. to be able to carry out details at joints and finishes.
• Special constructions: In certain cases, there is a need to carry out floors that meet very special requirements, for example: Installation floors, wet rooms, electrically conductive floor constructions, sports floors and floors in laboratories and the food industry.
• Outdoor coverings: Outdoor concrete structures are exposed to moisture, thermal movements, deicing salts, atmospheric carbon dioxide, etc. Therefore, outdoor concrete structures will slowly degrade if they are not protected.
