3 plank parquet floors
3-strip parquet flooring brings life into the home. The special character of this parquet design arises due to the rod elements, which are staggered next to each other on the plank. The placement of the wear layer slats in regular connection is beautiful with its modern look, which gives each and every room its individual character.
Timeless elegance
With its mature, golden brown color and its distinct grain, the oak tree conveys a timeless beauty that adapts perfectly to any interior design, whether classic or modern. Its elegance hides the wood's robustness: there is hardly any other type of wood that has greater strength and elasticity. This makes oak one of the most popular floor coverings.
The symbol of strength and durability
Already the Celts and Germans as well as the Greeks and Romans worshiped the oak tree as a sacred tree. It was considered the symbol of strength, durability and a long life. The saying goes "Thousands of reasons". The oldest oak in Europe was said to be in Bierbaum in Oststeiermark, Austria. In the year 990 it was verifiably mentioned for the first time and is considered to be around 1,200 years old. The girth of the trunk measures just under nine metres.
Protection and resilience
For several centuries, people in Europe built their houses and ships in oak. Because this wood can withstand all kinds of weather without problems. The "Venetian columns" are also made of oak and have supported the most beautiful buildings in the lagoon city for more than 500 years.
Worth knowing
Around the world there are around 450 different species of oak, found both on the American continent, in Europe and Asia as well as in North Africa. In Germany, oak is the most common type of wood after beech. They mostly grow in mixed forests. Larger oak forests are very rarely found. Oak (in Latin Quercus) belongs to the beech family, fagaceae. There are various theories about the origin of the name: In Germanic it is called oak, which at the same time also meant tree. Other sources refer to the Latin word esca, food. In the past, pigs were fed with acorns, the tree's egg-shaped fruits.
