Wiking Danish Douglas
In this category you will find a selection of Danish-produced Douglas fir wooden floors. All the floors are produced at Wiking's factory in Denmark.
Wiking Douglas wood flooring
Douglas wood flooring has a great texture and aesthetic appeal. The play of the wood in the floorboards forms a calm pattern and is very suitable for e.g. rooms with large floor areas. The wide Douglas planks function almost as a decorative decoration in the interior and with their bright warm tones create a very nice and stylish atmosphere and interaction with the rest of the interior.
Douglas - also called Oregon pine was brought to Europe from Oregon in Northwest America at the beginning of the 19th century. In their home country, the Douglas-firs become over 100 m tall if they are allowed to live 3-400 years. In 150 years, European Douglas fir can grow up to 50-70 m tall and have a diameter of more than 1 metre. This makes Douglas perfect for the production of the wide floorboards. The planks from Wiking Gulve have rounded edges, which emphasize the width and contribute to the floor's exclusive look.
Douglas wood flooring is characterized by the harmonious grain patterns, and is a bright, warm wood floor with a beautiful reddish tint. The elegant appearance of this type of plank floor is often used in modern buildings and the most stylish homes both in Denmark and abroad. Fine cracks may occur in this type of wood upon delivery. Therefore, you must pay extra attention to care and maintenance, as well as the relative humidity.
