THE STORY OF THE FAX
Esbjerg Farve- & Lakfabrik A/S was founded by A. Lykke Thomsen in 1889. A. Lykke Thomsen's factory started in the center of Esbjerg and later moved to the harbor, where floor varnish and bone wax are produced. The company was later run by the founder's sons, until in 1937 it was handed over to the group of people who founded the company Esbjerg Farve- & Lakfabrik A/S.

Floor coatings were, for the first many years, the product Esbjerg Farve- & Lakfabrik A/S concentrated on. However, the company's management decided in the mid-1960s that the company should focus on becoming a supplier of industrially used paint systems.

The starting point for this was the agricultural machinery industry. Back then, it was not possible to buy paint in all the original colors of the agricultural machinery from one manufacturer. The company's management knew how to take advantage of this situation, as they – as the first company in Denmark – published a color card with original colors on all commonly used tractors and agricultural machines in Denmark. This activity has developed strongly, so that Esbjerg Farve- & Lakfabrik A/S is today the market leader in touch-up paint for agricultural machinery in Scandinavia.

In 2007 Esbjerg Farve & Lakfabrik A/S bought FAXE A/S in Hornbæk with a complete product range for wood care in the home and has since moved sales and production to Esbjerg. The company's activities are today concentrated on a wide range of products for Industry, repair paints for Professional use, as well as a complete range of wood care products for Private use.

The products include traditional alkyd paints, oven-drying paint systems, oils, care products and 2-component paint systems - both water-thinnable and solvent-based for surfaces as diverse as metals, wood, concrete and other surfaces.

The company has up-to-date and forward-looking production and laboratory facilities and has implemented management systems for both quality and the environment, so that the company is ready to enter into project collaboration with our current and future customers with the aim of solving almost any task within the area and market we choose to be on.
