How to measure up:
We always recommend that you as a customer measure the rooms in which you are going to lay your new flooring. Below we will try to describe how a measurement can take place and what must be taken into account. For the sake of clarity, it is most optimal to measure your rooms physically, rather than a floor plan from an estate agent or similar.
There is a big difference in how floors are installed, but measurements are roughly the same. When measuring, it is important to always measure on the widest and longest part of the room. Our floors are sold either in track goods or in packages.
Flooring products are vinyls, carpets and linoleum – these products are typically available in rolls 2,3,4 or 5 meters wide.
Floors sold in packages are wooden floors, laminate floors, vinyl click floors, linoleum tiles and carpet tiles.
Below we have illustrated how to measure up. It is important to measure in full length – which means that measurements must be taken all the way into recesses, under windows, in the door, under the radiator, and in kitchens under the refrigerator and dishwasher. Where the arrows end must be measured as a minimum.
In the kitchen, you only need to measure to the plinth, as the floor is not installed under the plinth, but to the plinth - where there may be finished with 10 x 16 mm. sandbar.
Once you have determined the length and width of each individual room, you multiply your measurements to get your number of square metres. Subsequently, 5-10% is added to waste. Remember that for track goods, the full roll width must always be calculated.
If you need further help to calculate how many m2 of floor you need, you can use Haro's calculation program.

After you have drawn your room, you can save the drawing as a PDF and send it to us if we need help calculating m2 in relation to roll widths and lengths of e.g. carpets, vinyl or linoleum.
Especially for track goods
Many of our track products are available in both 2, 3, 4 and 5 meter widths, so it is smart if you choose a sufficiently wide track, because then you don't have to assemble the floor. For vinyls and linoleum, they must be welded together, and for carpets you use double-sided tape. Vinyl is welded with cold welding agent, you can do it yourself. Linoleum must be welded with welding wire and special tools. It can usually only be done by professional flooring professionals. We recommend ordering in the same roll width, as there may be nuance differences from one roll width to another
Especially for packaged goods
We only sell wooden floors, laminate floors, vinyl floors, linoleum tiles and carpet tiles in whole packages, therefore the price changes when you have entered the desired number of square meters and it changes to the number of whole packages. Even though we round up to whole packages, it is still important that you calculate waste, we always recommend a minimum of 5-10% waste. At the same time, it is also a good idea to have some floor left over for any repairs.
Substrate requirements
There are different types of underlay – either in sheets or in rolls. Underlay is used to reduce footfall noise and smooth out small unevenness to the subfloor. If the floor is to be installed directly on concrete, it is necessary that the substrate has a vapor barrier. A general rule is the more expensive the underlay is - the more effective it is against footfall noise.
A surface is not necessary for rolling goods, so we recommend nothing more than an even and dry surface.
