Bergsten Thermo Deck can be mounted with hidden clips so that there are no screw holes. They can also be installed with visible screws like all other decking boards.

Wood is a natural material and it cannot therefore be expected that the colors will be the same for all the delivered planks. The wood can vary from being dark brown/deep red to almost golden. Unfortunately, it is not possible to show the play of colors exactly on either pictures or smaller samples, as the planks are never the same.

As the quality of the wood is always slightly fluctuating, you must always count on approx. 5-7% extra for cutting waste if there are any places where something needs to be cut.

Many boards may have "streak marks" from storage. These marks disappear over time if the terrace is not treated. If the terrace is to be oiled, we recommend that the terrace be lightly sanded before treatment and any power marks will also disappear.

Bergsten Thermo Deck - Thermal terrace planks

Wood is a living organism that can absorb moisture. When the wood becomes damp it expands, twists and becomes more susceptible to moisture and rot. There are several ways to counteract this, i.a. by mixing plastic into the wood which gives composite, or making a pressure impregnation. Thermowood is wood that is slowly heated to 212 degrees, thereby killing the wood. In the process, the wood loses its liquid-absorbing properties and therefore becomes more stable and resistant to moisture and rot and fungus. This is an environmentally friendly way, where the wood is still pure wood and without the use of any kind of chemicals!

Minimal maintenance

During the heating process, the wood lost its liquid-absorbing property and thereby it will absorb less liquid and therefore it will retain its color and remain beautiful for longer than other wood. But despite this, it is still a good idea and our recommendation to give the wood a coat of oil once a year - this ensures that the wood retains its color for even longer.

Assembly

The boards can be easily mounted with special clips made specifically for these boards. With these you get a nice finish without screw holes, as they are made for concealed mounting.
