Advantages of laying a floor with a lightly brushed and matt lacquered surface is that the floor looks like an oiled floor. At the same time, the surface is harder as the loose/softer wood is brushed off before the floor is lacquered. Scratches from use are less visible on this surface than on an ordinary smooth floor.
