Linoleum glue 256 is a water-based dispersion glue, specially developed for e.g. linoleum. The glue has a good bite already in the wet glue stage and a long open time.
Used for gluing linoleum on absorbent and weakly absorbent substrates such as concrete, wood fiber boards and cement putty. The glue is also suitable for wet gluing of e.g. carpets with or without latex backing.
Linoleum glue 256 has the indoor climate label according to Emicode EC 1 PLUS .
Linoleum glue 256 meets the requirements of GSO Floor facts for linoleum glue according to Nordtest 141, Nordtest 142, Nordtest 143 and Nordtest 146.

Physical / chemical data:
Type: Water-based co-polymer dispersion
Colour: Light beige
Consistency: Pasty, thixotropic
Dry matter content: Approx. 68%
Density: Approx. 1.3 kg/litre

Instructions for use:
Preparation: Stir the glue before use. Before use, glue and coating are tempered to between 18 °C and 25 °C. The linoleum covering is cut and acclimatized for at least 24 hours in loosely standing rolls in a vertical position or loosely laid out on the floor surface. The moisture percentage in the subfloor must be max. be of the size determined for the flooring in question (85% RH for linoleum). Moisture measurement must be carried out according to Gulvfakta's rules. If necessary, moisture insulation must be provided. Gluing can be done on clean, even, level and permanently dry surfaces such as concrete, wood fiber boards and cement putty. The substrate should be absorbent to minimize the tendency for moisture-related movements in the linoleum strips. If the subfloor is not absorbent, it must be puttyed in a layer thickness of at least 2 mm with a floor putty compound. In addition, always follow the coating supplier's instructions. The subfloor must have a flatness of max. +/- 2 mm, measured on a 2 m straight line. With underfloor heating, special precautions must be taken. See the coating supplier's instructions. Substrates of floor putty are primed with Primer 600 diluted with water, in a ratio of 1:5. Substrates of anhydrite are primed twice with Primer 600 diluted with water. First time 1:5, second time 1:3. The primer must be completely dry before applying glue. Application temperature: 18 °C to 25 °C. The relative humidity in the room must not exceed 65%. The humidity may possibly reduced by air heating and/or ventilation.

Application:
The glue is applied to the floor with a notched trowel. The coating is mounted in the wet glue. When gluing on weakly absorbent substrates, the coating should only be installed after approx. 20 minutes waiting time. However, the glue must still feel wet and give off a stain on the back of the coating. Linoleum is a natural material in which moisture-related movements occur. This should be taken into account when cutting. The coating is rolled immediately after installation and again after approx. 1 hour.
Amount of glue:
The recommended amount of glue depends on the type of coating. Linoleum: 3 m²/litre Carpets: 4 - 5 m²/litre
Post processing:
Fusible wire must not be installed until the glue has hardened and the moisture-related movements of the linoleum strips have ceased. This usually takes 1 - 2 days. Cleaning: Glue on the skin is removed with soap and water. Tools are cleaned with water while the glue is still wet. Dried glue dissolves with kerosene.
